A letter to my younger self- GCSE Exam results.

Posted on

Hey you, how’s it going?

I know things are tough right now. You’re just about to get your exam results, you know you could have done a bit more revision but that’s not what you’re thinking about right now is it? You’re thinking about the little baby growing inside your still growing body. You’re mid-way through your teens and you’re carrying a human inside you. It wasn’t a difficult decision to make, you know you’ve got the full support of your parents and they will be with you the whole way.

But what about YOUR future, you know you want to do well in your exams, but if you don’t it’s ok. It’s not the end of the world. Things happen for a reason and you just may have to put college to one side for a bit. You’re apprehensive because you’ve got 2 futures to think of, but you’ll be fine. It’s not the end of the world, you’re going to do great, whatever you put your mind to.

You’re 16, I know what’s that like, remember? :P So you might not be able to become a systems analyst and join the RAF, what are your other passions? What about art? You love art and drawing, no matter what the art teacher said you have what it takes to be creative and imaginative. What about textiles? Science? You love all these subjects, you know you can do well if you put your mind to it. It just so happens that whatever you do you will have the love and support of your family.

You’ll do ok. Try not to think to hard on the results, they do not define you, you are still you, never regret. That’s something you’ll live by as you get older and realise that you have to do what you love to make a difference.

Trust me, you’ll be alright.
